Birthday Boy!

It's hard to believe that a year's gone by already! On Preston's birthday, the 9th, we went out for pizza and ice cream. He love it! (And so did Tristan!)

Sweet little banana boy

This morning Tristan was eating a banana. She holds the whole thing and eats it. I had already cut off part for Preston to eat in small bites (with my assistance). Tristan had made a mess on the chair with her poptart. (Yes, it is the breakfast of champions). (And for the grandma's out there, she had already eaten pancakes, had milk, and was now having a banana!)

As I went for the vacuum to clean up the mess, Tristan evidently sat down her banana. Preston found it and thought, "Why wait for mom to feed me when there is a perfectly good banana right here?" When I got back this is how I found him! Sweet little banana boy. He fed the whole thing to himself without choking at all while I was snapping away pictures! I can't believe that he's old enough to do this!

Clothing Optional!

I wrote earlier about our excitement when we bought the grass seed. Well, we planted it over Father's Day weekend (thanks for babysitting Auntie Amanda!). Six weeks later and Preston is finally sitting in his own yard full of grass! We have a ton of weeds coming up as well. We sprayed them last weekend, but we are also weeding the yard by hand. As you would expect, weeding a 15,000 square foot yard by hand is a very long and tedious process!
Tristan and Preston are getting a playground, so we have already weeded the area where it is going. This is the only weed free place in the yard, but really it's the only place that matters right now. I'm about 2/3 of the way done assembling the million pieces of wood, but Tristan is already loving it! As you can see, her playground is clothing optional!
I've become one of those mother's! I now understand why there are pictures of me at this age playing naked. For some reason kids love it! (Get ready Taryn and Jacob...little Emmy will be riding her bike naked on the trails!) Maybe other people don't, but I reach the point in the day that when she says, "Can I take off my dress and play naked, Mommy, Please?" I smile and say, "Thank you for asking nicely. Yes you may!"

My Little Ballerina

This weekend was a big one in the Bartosiewicz household. Tristan has been taking a dance class this summer, and Friday and Saturday brought dress rehearsals and the recital. She did great, and as you can see...she makes a pretty sweet ballerina! I'll try to get the video of her dance up soon.

Four generations of great men

Last weekend we went down to Fort Worth for Jamison's baptism. Matt's grandfather came down from New York for the occasion. It was the first time he had met Preston. Matt's dad is an only son, and Matt is an only son. It was his job to carry on the name, and he pulled through with what I think will be the best Bartosiewicz man yet...Preston!

Where wishes come true!

We went to Florida to what is now Tristan's favorite place in May. I know that was a long time ago, but I finally got the picture cd from Disney and uploaded the pictures! We had so much fun that we are going again in November!

For those of you who thinks this means we are rich and crazy, it's not the case. My parents have a 3 bedroom condo that we stay in for free and they babysit when the kids are tired so that we can play and ride adult rides!
Tristan loves all the princesses, It's a Small World, and the parades. Preston had a surprisingly good time. There are so many things colorful things to look at. And...he got his first kiss from Sleeping Beauty! He's such a prince!

Fun in the Sun!

To celebrate Independence Day we made homemade pizza and swam at Aunt Stephanie's house. We thought that Tristan would be too short to touch the bottom, so Stephanie got her a lounge floatie that she calls her boat. She uses the skimmer as a paddle and has a blast! Later we realized that she can touch, but if she slips at all, her face gets in the water and then the fun is over. Knowing this, we try to keep her from slipping, but she constantly tells us not to hold on to or touch her!

Preston got a new crab floatie that has a shade. We didn't use the shade today because he only swam in the evening. He loves to splash! Preston really only likes to play for a little bit, so luckily Grandma was waiting with a towel! It is so precious to see them play in the water together. I've tried to add some video with this post, so let me know if it doesn't work! It may be a little fuzzy... I'm still trying to figure out the best format to use when uploading video. Sorry!

All in all, we had a great day! We hope all of you were equally happy!
